Reading Responses

This course is based on reading and discussion.  It is absolutely essential for both your success in the course and for the success of the course that you do the reading each week and be prepared to talk about it.  We will have readings for almost every class.  Once a week, I want you to email me a reading response of 300 words (submitted via Moodle) before the day of class) .  These reading responses will be the basis for class discussion.  Your reading response can include such things as:
–responses to questions I have raised in the syllabus
–what you see the author’s most important points to be (and if you agree with them)
–questions the author’s work raises
–how it relates to other things we have talked about in class
Note:  I may at times give alternate ways to do your reading response.

If you do 10 reading responses of good quality, you will get an A (95) for this section of the course.  If you do 9, you will get an A-, and so on.  (If you do 11, you will get 100.)
