Alumni Interview

You are part of a program that has been going on for 30 years!  One great thing about this program is that you have a chance to learn from the people who did the program before you.  I am going to assign each of you an alumni to talk with, following this protocol. would then like you to write up a brief report based on your interview before October 30, and to be prepared to talk about it in class.  Here are the assignments

The person you are interviewing is a Franklin and they have volunteered to be interviewed, but remember that you are representing the current program, so please make an effort to make a good impression!  I have told them the interview will take around 30 minutes. Remember that they are busy.  Email them at least three weeks ahead to set up an interview time.  Submit a write-up of at least 750 words by class time on October 30 in Google Docs, upload it to Moodle and be prepared to talk (first to your cellmates and then to the class) about your interview.

Some things to include in your interview/writeup.

–Basic Facts
Name/Majors/Year of Graduation
Their career after graduation
Why did they join the Franklin program?
What were important things they got out of the program, both personally and professionally?
How would they describe the importance of their CHASS degree?
What advice would they have for current Franklins?

Note:  Maybe you have seen grade school kids on field trips (or maybe you have been one yourself!), where they have a sheet with very specific things they are supposed to answer.  I don’t want you interview with the Franklin Alumni to be like that.  I would like you to have a conversation, and share something about yourself.  The questions I have are guidelines, I don’t expect you to follow them slavishly.
